Compensation: $70,000 per year 

What You’ll Get to Do: 
The Merchandise Specialist oversees the day-to-day merchandising responsibilities for all corporate stores. Ensures merchandising standards and communication processes are followed. Works closely with category managers to maximize product sales by implementing category planograms, new item placement, speed to market programs and promotional strategies. Coordinates, directs and executes the merchandising startup of new stores, remodels, full store resets, equipment enhancements, special projects and closings. Manages, mentors and develops a merchandising team to achieve the company goals and objectives.

  • Plan, direct and execute the merchandising startup of new stores and remodels.  Build Shopco and various shelving systems, arrange display and fixture locations, and oversee restocking of the store including Wholesaler and DSD vendor products. Coordinate new store set up and the execution of merchandising to the highest standards.
  • Plan and implement full store resets.  Determine equipment and fixture needs based on surveys and proposed plan, review fixture availability in storage locations and order additional equipment as required. Manage the planning and execution of store resets, either internally or through third parties.
  • Manage the transfer, donation and recycling processes for all closings, remodel stores as well as full store closings.
  • Foster a collaborative working relationship with vendor partners and store teams to ensure positive and profitable merchandising performance.
  • Ensure plan-o-gram compliance at store level.  Coach store management team on merchandising standards at store level. Provide merchandising support as requested to Store Operations.
  • Collaborates with price book team and category managers regarding any pricing, VIN, UPC or product issues.
  • Assist category managers with efficient assortment and planogram development.
  • Governs strategy for product flow from the start of the supply chain to the end of the product life cycle.
  • Oversees the stocking and organization of merchandising materials at the company warehouse facility.
  • Responsible for follow-up on execution of all active promotions within assigned stores
  • Partners with category managers regarding any special merchandising programs, clearance items, events and contests.
  • Communicate with various operations teams on all aspects of merchandising issues and follow-up items.
  • Partners with various departments team to make certain strategic plans accurately reflect seasonal strategies, merchandising plans and planograms to maximize product growth opportunities.
  • Works with marketing and operations teams to make sure all advertising materials are placed according to the sales plan.
  • Merchandising team visits each company site on a regular basis
  • Develop and implement forward-thinking merchandising strategies that align with industry trends and customer preferences.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and integrate emerging technologies that enhance the shopping experience and strategy compliance within our locations.
  • Design and implement innovative in-store experiences that attract and retain customers.
  • Ensure the store layout and product displays are optimized for ease of shopping and visual appeal.
  • Stay abreast of the latest retail technologies and evaluate their potential impact on store operations. Including the emergence of functional AI systems that will help with customer experience and strategy compliance within our locations.
  • Conduct surveys as scheduled by the Category Management and Merchandising team.

We’re Looking For: 

  • Degree in Marketing or Business required or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • 2-3 years product merchandising or related experience.
  • Strong computer skills and some MS Office Suite knowledge; Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Some experience and understanding of category management and store level merchandising processes and systems.
  • Must be able to adapt quickly to change management and technology.
  • Ability to manage multiple activities and set priorities.
  • Ability to take direction and multi-task.
  • Work collaboratively and effectively as a team member.
  • Must have organizational and analytical aptitude with attention to detail.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Reliable transportation required.
